November, 19, within the frames of the world charity project Encounters. Alliance For Children, it's author and initiator German rock-star Peter Maffay arrives to L'viv. November, 20 Peter and the Ukrainian participant of the project Ruslana present the medical equipment to OHMADYT regional children's hospital in L'viv .
"Chernobyl 2006 - Children of Spring" is Ruslana's latest charity project which is a part of an international project "Encounters - Alliance for Children" of the rock singer Peter Maffay from Germany. Maffay, who originally comes from the Romanian Carpathian Mountains and grew up in Germany, is not only one of the all times most successful musicians in the German speaking countries, he is also known for his remarkable social commitment. "Encounters" is a musical dialogue of artists from all five continents - beyond all political, religious and cultural differences. With the help of a common language - music - the project builds bridges between cultures and supports charity programmes for children all over the world. Fourteen artists from twelve countries present social projects of their home countries and record an album together with Maffay. At the end of the year a big TV show (maraphon), broadcasted live by the German TV, and the German concert tour are planned. All the funds gathered will be granted to the hospitals of the countries-participants for buying medical equipment. Especially for this project Ruslana rearranged her old hit Svitanok and recorded it together with Maffay in Ukrainian. Co-organizators of Maffay's project are: World's Vision German charity organization (www.worldvision.de), the most popular German BILD paper and ZDF TV channel (its crew will accompany Maffay in L'viv to shot video for the German TV maraphon. Ruslana's project "Chernobyl 2006 - Children of Spring", which president Victor Yushchenko supports as patron, will be of benefit for infants who suffer from late effects of the Chernobyl disaster and who have only little chances of survival without modern medical technology. The first funds from realization of the project were used for equipping the neonatology unit of the OHMADYT regional children's hospital in L'viv with modern medical technology, which is to be presented by Ruslana and Peter Maffay on Monday, 20 at 10:00.
